All of the communitarian programs aiming at innovation and formation derive from the cultural and social project LEONARDO DA VINCI whose area Bussola belong to, is one of them.

M.I.U.R.

The Ministry of Instruction, University and Research is divided in 2 Departments, 3 Services and 20 Regional School Offices. The 59/1997 bill gives the single schools a didactic, administrative and organizational autonomy. The functions of MIUR are the ones of giving direction and of controlling. In this way national identity of educational paths, uniformity and equality in development criteria of educational system, are granted, althaugh respecting the local autonomies.

MINISTERO DEL LAVORO E DELLE POLITICHE SOCIALI

It coordinates and manages policies of labour, employement and formation in synergy with the guidelines of Ialian Government and European Union. The site is a mine of information and ideas on the world of labour from the European point of view.

ISFOL

ISFOL, public body if scientific research, operates in collaboration with theMinistry of work, Regions, Social parts, other State administration, European Union and international institutions for the development of professional formation. Institutional purposes of this body are: research and study activities, experimentations technical assistence concerning formative needs, qualifications, job structure and emerging ones

In today's economic climate Europe is facing a twofold challenge. First, there is a need to prepare European citizens better for entering the labour market, thereby reducing the number of unemployed. Second, companies need a skilled workforce to cope with rapid scientific and technological changes in an increasingly competitive world. To meet this challenge the European Commission's Leonardo da Vinci programme serves as a laboratory of innovation in the field of lifelong learning.

LEONARDO DA VINCI

Leonardo da Vinci is the European Commission's Action programme whose purpose is to put into action a policy for professional formation. In Italy the programme is coordinated by the Minitry of Work and Welfare and by the Ministry of Instruction, University and Research, Which avail them selves of ISFOL technical assistance.
