Field of activity
The Chamber of Commerce and Industry is an institution specific to the market economy, independent of Government, local administration or political forces and whose actions are oriented towards members, in particular, and the economic operators, in general.
Presently, the Arad Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture performs the following activities:
Origin and evolutionIt was founded over 125 years ago, on November 26, 1871 and it had a long and fruitful development.
The Chamber reached its highest development around the second world war, when, in 1938, the Romanian inter-war economy came to a head. At the end of the war, when the communist regime was established, and the main industrial, commercial and financial companies had been nationalized, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry ceased to exist.
After the Revolution of December, 1989, the transition from the supercentralized and planned state system to a market economy started. On the 20th of May 1990, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Arad county was re-established as an autonomous institution, founded on the initiative of the state and private enterprises from the county, operates according to the Decree-Law 139/90 and was recognized by the Government through the Government Decision 799/90. In Europe, the Chambers of Commerce mainly appeared out of the necessity of the commercial companies to be represented in an organized manner, slowly gaining the rest of the attributions they accomplish nowadays.
SizeFrom the beginning, it promoted commerce and industry and supported the interests of its members, and today it counts nearly 500 members.
Experiences in the dispersion field
Arad Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture is a member in the Local Development Council, which regards the human resource placement. Its members are from City Hall, Prefecture, County Council, executive of schools, unions and other non - governmental institutes. The role of the Chamber is to get information about the investors, and match the human resource request.
Experiences in the orientation field
The training services offered by the Chamber are a most usefull tool economic operators and private persons may access, because it enables them to adapt the labor force to the needs of the market.
The chamber organizes training courses of short, medium and long duration. It also tailors training courses to the specific of the company, and it can even provide personalized training for a single person. The topics of the training courses are various and useful such as: accountancy, foreign languages, PC operation and other thematic according to the demands of the company.
